BMJ confirms the benefits of Physiotherapy for Parkinson's patients

A recent systematic review published on the BMJ (British Medical Journal) website confirms the benefits and effectiveness of physiotherapy for Parkinson's patients, for periods of 3 months or fewer. The review covered 39 randomised controlled trials and although it found that physiotherapy was beneficial, there is still a lack of evidence for the long-term benefits available. It is thought that this may be why so few patients with Parkinson's disease have been referred for Physiotherapy in the past. Surely any hope and support for these patients must be worthwhile.

I was recently referred to Physio 23, following my consultation with a neurologist. I was amazed that the physiotherapy has resulted in me being headache free, the first time in months. The treatment I have received was wonderful and each week my condition improved. I can’t recommend Physio 23 enough. My therapist was extremely knowledgeable and has given me so much relief. To be out of awful head pain that I had been suffering with is just wonderful.
